Antique 19th Century French Faience Sardine Jar, used for preserving and storing sardines long ago. These stunning off-white pots had similarities to the traditional confit pots, except they are fully glazed inside and down the sides, they were not intended to be buried. The sardine fishery was (and still is} the most important fishing industry in most of France.
The antique cream-white color pots we choose have patina, aging, wear and chips as shown, with 2 Handles. They have such character and personality.
