Stunning early 19th Century Copeland & Garrett Blue & White Large Platter made between 1833 - 1847. Made of pearlware and decorated with one of the most beloved designs, the Italian pattern. Known as Blue Italian, it was introduced by Spode in 1816. This large platter is absolutely glorious, and quite rare to find in such an early version and condition.
Carries both a blue printed and an imprinted mark "Copeland & Garrett Late Spode" - manufacturers of fine porcelain at Stoke, Staffordshire, England from 1833- 1847. There are signs of usage on the back, from a collector who obviously took the greatest care, the platter is in excellent antique condition with no damage.
