Beautiful 19th Century Staffordshire Ironstone Round Footed Tureen with Lid, made between 1839-1864 by J Clementson of Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, England. This tureen has such an elegant and classic shape, the footed fluted bowl has quite a presence. The pie-crust scallop edge is exquisite!
The lid has a charming and decorative finial, I believe it is a fig. This has a small hairline on the base, and aging and patina as shown. The lid has a few edge chips on the inside that you don't see on the top. Considering it's great age, I consider this in good condition. A find! An exceptional and rare to find addition to your collection of antique English ironstone.
