Light A Fall Candle

Isn’t it so true that now, more than ever, making our homes a personal sanctuary is a priority? Designing our homes to be a haven, our sanctuary filled with serenity helps us navigate through this year’s normal.  One easy way to bring calm and relaxation to your home is to Light A Fall Candle.

Now that the fall days are getting shorter, it’s time to add the warm glow of candles to our homes. Candles add soft light, they make every room {and US, too!} look even more becoming. Please come in to see how I use candles in my fall decor. Lighting a candle is such a simple thing, it immediately brings an incredible beauty and sense of calm to our home.

Here are a few places at home where lighting a candle is an easy way to add to your home’s sense of beauty and serenity.

Your Mantel

One of the first places we love to decorate for any season, a mantel is up high, so you can bathe your room in the glow of your candles from there.  For this fall mantel, the antique French bottles and apothecary jars glow with the addition of a few well placed candles.

Our FrenchGardenHouse French Poire d’ Saison scented candle made the whole house smell heavenly!

The same mantel a few years ago, still speaks autumn, but in a more subdued manner using blues, whites and greys.

A pair of Parisian Grey tapers look stunning on this mantel that we designed in a classic blue and white scheme for fall a few years ago.

Your Living Room

Here in the states, our home’s front door opens directly into a little “step up” foyer, but no hallway, so that you see the living room right away.  It’s always a delight to see a little candle flickering a welcome, especially now that it’s getting darker earlier.

My favorite seasonal decor is even more captivating with the scent and glow of one of our FrenchGardenHouse candles. I grouped some of my favorite design books, velvet pumpkins, a seasonal bouquet in a French jar together with one of our FGH luxury candles on a vintage tray. Favorite scent for the living room? French Canelle Rose with just a hint of cinnamon.

Your Kitchen

Your kitchen is the perfect place to light a candle with a warm, homey scent.  If you have read me for a while, you’ll remember I used to tell our girls that doing dishes by candlelight made it seem special. {Yes, I know, they didn’t buy it then either, but you can’t say I didn’t try!}

Having a scented candle burning in the kitchen does make it cozy, and inviting.  Especially in the fall and winter months, the minute it’s almost dark is the time I light the kitchen candle.

Favorite scents for now: Vanille et Tangerine and French Green Currant & Apple.

Your Dining Room

Setting a pretty table and lighting a few candles is my very favorite way to bring a soft glow to a fall night.  Candlelight casts a sweet glow over the table, and the people you love.  It will make any meal special.

    1. Thank you so much Shirley. I love that it’s time for candles again! {Although I always have candles, all year round.}

    Thank you for the tips where to use candles. I love the honey cone candles I purchase from you a few weeks ago. I plan to start using them to brighten the dinning room and kitchen. As always I love everything I have purchased from you over the years. Your blog is the only one I read.
