FRENCH COUNTRY MORNING IN THE GARDEN & GIVEAWAY

I hope you have all had a wonderful week!

Inside FrenchGardenHouse, I’m almost 100% decorated, are you?

Today, Mr. FrenchGardenHouse and I are finishing up the garlands around our fence in the front garden, and the lights all the way around the house.

{he doesn’t know that yet, so don’t tell ’til I’m ready, Okay?}

{You already  saw our new garlands here, but the weather prevented us from finishing the fence decorations, we only hung them half way around.}

I’m looking forward to some time in our French Country style garden, I love it in spring, fall, summer, but nothing beats being bundled up in a sweater and being out there during this time of year!

My plan is to set up a little coffee and treat area on the garden table in the garden.

I’ll encourage John to come and drink coffee with me after he finishes

the fence garlands and the house lights. {I have a plan!}

And this time I’ll serve an actual cake, not a faux one, because…well, husbands and people in general, are more motivated by the lure of real pastries and cakes.

And I do want to get the front done.

{As you probably guessed, by “I” – I mean John is going to do the actual work, I’ll just add bows and fluff.}

If you missed yesterday’s post, I’m doing a re-cap so that you can enter to win one of the wreaths we featured from Lynch Creek Farm.

I hope you have had a chance to meet my friends.

Each one is near to my heart, they always encourage, inspire and lift me up with their words, their sweet spirits, and the beauty they lovingly create in their homes.

Shirley lives in the South, and she has a huge love for blue and white, and it’s evident in her decorating at her Berry Patch home.

She knows how to create holiday magic!

Pam lives in the country, and oh my, she knows how to decorate with style.

She has a love of color, and is so great at mixing patterns!

{BTW – if she ever gets rid of that rug, I’ve got first dibs!}

Mary lives by a lake, and she spends as much time as possible outdoors in her beautiful part of the world.

Mary always has such cheerful things to share.

She has some darling companions you will adore, too!

And then there is Yvonne. Yvonne lives in a farmhouse, and her kitchen alone makes all of us want to move right in with her.

She decorates from the heart, and creates magic everywhere she goes.

Side bar: I love that we all live in such different places! I live in a beach town in California…each of us lives in a totally different place, but we have so much in common.

Just like you have so much in common with us, most likely!

Each one of these ladies is special to me, and I am so thankful that they let me be part of their Monday Morning Blooms group.

So now, please be sure to enter to win this glorious W R E A T H !

All you have to do is leave a comment on this post, or the one from yesterday, or BOTH !

    Lidy, it is such a joy to see your greetings throughout this holiday season. It’s the first thing I look for…even before settling in with the NYTimes. Perhaps the grace and beauty in your pictures and messages are helping me face the difficult news of each day!

  2. Your home sings “Joy to the World” Lidy!….it was so much fun doing this Inaugural tour of Monday Morning Blooms with you and the MMB friends…Looking forward to our next Monday Morning Blooms with you!…

    Your front garden is so sweet with the table set in front of the bay window. I can imagine sitting with you there for a cup of coffee enjoying the works of your (John’s) labor. I’m sure at night it is just as lovely looking out of the bay window to the garland lit for Christmas. Our guest this weekend are enjoying tea we bought from Celestial Seasons yesterday. We took a quick tour of Celestial Seasons and the smell was a big CHRISTMAS experience. We had Bengal Spice tea with bourbon cookies after we returned home. Have you ever taken their tour? It’s free and there is a shop to win you over and Cafe where you can try the many different teas with lunch.

    Lovely settings like these remind us that beauty can capture our fleeting attention to experience “ahh” moments – we slow down, come to the present and relish in the possibilities of making new memories that will be treasured beyond today. No doubt, such festive beauty fuels our imagination and tickles our “joy gene”!

    Hi Lidy, I don’t believe I can respond any more graciously than the ladies’ previous comments above, but we all certainly appreciate your God-given gifts & talents and are greatly inspired by them, as well as being thankful for your willingness, (and for your hubby, Johns as well!), to share these beautiful images with us. 21. Diane McCarthy

    Just stunning! Thank you for such beautiful inspiration!

  22. You made me smile with your crafty ways in working with John! Yes, we all need to have a few tricks up our sleeves to get our loves to help with decorating! I personally have a problem with climbing on ladders, well–in my case, chairs. I fell off one a few years ago and broke my arm. So that’s what I leave for hubby.

    I love your pretty garland. Your front garden looks very elegant and inviting! And thanks for sharing the other ladies decor. It’s all very inspiring!

    I have a question. I made an attempt to decorate my own wreath this year. I added the bow to the bottom. Is there a proper place to put it? Everywhere I look I’m seeing the bow at the top. Is it just personal preference?

    Thank you so much for such a nice giveaway! You are the best.

    Jane
