Antique Rustic French Country Confit Pot, in a wonderful neutral color, this one has one handle, to make it easier to transfer it from the kitchen to the cellar long ago. This pot is from the late 19th century, bought at market in France. Unglazed inside and outside, it has the patina of lots of time.
Thrown on a potter’s wheel by hand, pots like this were used for many foods in the 1800’s, early 1900’s, including rilettes. This beauty has plenty of character and personality, since it was hand made it has a charming, slightly uneven, surface texture. An authentic French Country rustic treasure aged to perfection! Perfect for holding your kitchen utensils or as a planter for herbs. In rustic antique condition with chips and imperfections to the stoneware as shown in the pictures.
