Beautiful 19th Century Staffordshire Flow Blue Luncheon Plates Set of 6 made by S Bridgwood & Son. The pottery was started by Samuel Bridgwood in 1820, these plates are marked for the production year of 1891. Stunning plates, deep cobalt blue with lush ornate floral garland borders. This is such a gorgeous flow blue design, featuring an almost paisley like design of flowers and beaded garland swags.
To find a set of six is thrilling, one of the plates looks to have a small old professional repair to the under rim, which is not visible from the side or the top. The plates have craquelure from over a century in varying degrees as you would expect of pottery or porcelain of this age. These are exquisite, the scalloped rims are lightly paneled. An exceptional addition to your antique Staffordshire Flow Blue collection.
