This summer, we’re celebrating our favorite
flower and food markets in Paris, France.
The markets were the inspiration for our collection of
FrenchGardenHouse Luxury Candles.
I’m sharing the two markets we love best.
BEST PARISIAN FLOWER MARKET
The Paris Marche au Fleurs on the Place Louis Lépine on the Île de la Cité
between the Notre-Dame Cathedral and Sainte-Chapelle
has been there since 1808.
It’s the place Parisians go to buy their weekly flowers, blooming plants for their balconies,
and for their gardens for those who are very fortunate!
Both the covered section and the open air part is a treat to wander through!
The orangerie style pavilions, built around 1900, line the market
and are filled with seasonal flowers, orchids, plants, even garden shrubs.
Honestly, the flowers are beyond gorgeous, and the prices!! SO good.
GO THERE:
Place Louis Lépine, Quai de la Corse, 75001 Paris
Open: Monday-Saturday: 8am to 7.30pm. Sunday: 8am to 7pm.
This vibrant, colorful market and its many flowers {each one is our favorite!}
was the inspiration for our line of fragrant candles.
Our luxury scented candles celebrate the sights, scents,
and even sounds of this vibrant flower market!
Impeccably blended with a high dose of French charm,
our hand-poured candles are carefully crafted to provide you many special moments.
I light one of these candles every evening, just
before dinner, sort of a sweet way to remind
myself to relax and wind down.
JASMIN ROSE CURRANT
Recalls an evening in Paris with friends, lingering over a pleasurable meal with a glass of wine.
Perfumed with the scent of French jasmine petals, rose, currant berries, and a hint of apple.
This is my favorite clean scent right now, for our bedroom and bathroom.
I’ve gifted it to hostesses, but also my girlfriends to light in their dressing rooms.
l’ORANGE THE ET ROSE
Explore the multisensory magic of Paris
memories of an afternoon shopping on the Avenue Montaigne in Paris,
then sipping delightfully spiced Orange Tea in an elegant cafe
while discussing the latest fashions with best friends.
Perfumed with the rich scent of Orange, ginger, cardamon and just a touch of rose.
This scent is for the friends you love who have adventure in their blood!
It always reminds me of having tea in the Ritz.
BEST OPEN AIR FOOD MARKET
The Marché Bastille is one of the biggest Parisian markets.
{and also the best one!}
About 100 vendors sell the freshest and best vegetables, fruits, and many other food products.
Lively, always busy, it’s here Parisians shop for their daily and “special” meals.
I can’t get enough of all the beautiful food that is available!
{I dream of meeting Ina there!}
GO THERE:
Boulevard Richard Lenoir, 75011 Paris
Open: Thursdays & Sundays 8am – 1:30pm
These two candles were inspired by the opulent Parisian open-air food market in Paris.
SWEET BERRIES et POIRE
Perfumed with the scent of fresh sweet berries, rhubarb, succulent pears and grapefruit,
this aromatic fragrance is perfect for this season.
This candle is the one I light in the evening just before dinner.
It illuminates that magical l’heure blue.
FRENCH VANILLA ET TANGERINE
Perfumed with the scent of fresh sweet tangerines, rich vanilla, lemons and a hint of bergamot,
this fragrance will bring to mind the exotic food stalls at the Marche Bastille in Paris.
A wonderful fragrance we light in our office at FrenchGardenHouse.
Yes, offices filled with antiques love candles!
Candles are always in style, and bring that beautiful scent of “home”-
for this season, they are specially priced at 38.- and come in a box with satin ribbon
ready for gifting to hosts, hostesses, best friends, and yourself!

Lidy, I love candles and your descriptions of your fragrances sends me back to Paris. I could spend all day at both the flower markets and food markets. Unfortunately, here in SW Florida, our “markets” are more what they call “Farmer’s Markets” as it is a mixture of foods, flowers and a little bit of everything else. They are only open once a week…..:(
Kari, the scent of a good quality candle adds such a beautiful ambiance at home, doesn’t it? I love the markets too, they are the pulse of France I think. Hope you are having a wonderful day!
i can say from experience and owning one of thee amazing candles that the scent is magnificent! The jar is oh so pretty and the box…oh my the box was worth saving! I so remember the food and flower markets in France…they were filled with the most spectacular colors and scents! Nothing like it!!!
Shirley, thanks for your visit! I’m glad you enjoyed your candle. : ) And I so agree, the food and flower markets in France are a feast for all the senses. xo
