Decorative and quite a collectible large size Antique Ironstone Soup Tureen. Beautiful elegant shape, from the 19th century, or very very early 1900's, incised mark on the bottom is Florence, I think this is the pattern, not the maker. Heirloom ornate handles on both sides, this is a heavy piece of pottery and displays very well. There is a ladle included, I'm not sure it is original to this soupière, but it was purchased at estate together. It's a rare treat to find tureens with lids, let alone ladles these days!
Perfect to serve soup, or to use as a centerpiece in your dining room on your table or buffet filled with fruit, flowers, shells for summer, pretty much everything will look grand in this. Add this to your collection of antique ironstone, mix it with your blue and white transferware, this is a very pretty piece. Of note: some wear in the bottom as shown, and the finial artichoke has been reglued at one time in its use, not very noticable, for a useful piece of country pottery this is to be expected. Please only purchase this if you can love antiques with stories and the grace of time. Measures: 16" x 9" x 11"h.
