Are you as surprised as I am that we’re almost at summer? As unbelievable as it seems, summer is just a few short weeks away.  The fabulous book, Slightly South of Simple,  was officially released April 25th. And it is the best summertime read!
Reading a truly good book is one of my most luxurious pleasures.
You might have met Kristy when I wrote about her book Lies and Other Acts of Love.
And Kristy gave us a tour of her home filled with southern charm.
This new book is the first of three. And you will fall in love with the women in this book.Â
The characters are just like all of us. Women who aren’t perfect, but try their best to make each day the best they can.
Ansley has always put her three daughters first, especially when she found out that her late husband, despite what he had always promised, left her with next to nothing. Now the proud owner of a charming waterfront design business and finally standing on her own two feet, Ansley welcomes Caroline and her brood back with open arms. But when her second daughter Sloane, whose military husband is overseas, and youngest daughter and successful actress Emerson join the fray, Ansley begins to feel like the piece of herself she had finally found might be slipping from her grasp. Even more discomfiting, when someone from her past reappears in Ansley’s life, the secret she’s harbored from her daughters their entire lives might finally be forced into the open.
Exploring the powerful bonds between sisters and mothers and daughters, this engaging novel is filled with Southern charm, emotional drama, and plenty of heart.
Kristy is generously giving one lucky reader of the FrenchGardenHouse blog a summer treat! Â It’s so easy! Â
She’s filling a tote bag with the book, a book light, a KWH cup, and cozy to keep your water cold, and a beautiful candle to bring a beautiful scent to your summer evenings.
I am so thankful to Kristy for her generosity to the FrenchGardenHouse readers! Â And if you just can’t wait, and are desperate for copy of this fantastic book, you can buy one here:

Thank YOU Kristy, for your generosity, and your amazing stories.
I do love Kristy’s blog but haven’t read her books. They sound like a good read.
Hi Lidy,
I signed up on Kristy’s Blog, and I just ordered Kristy’s new book off Amazon. It sounds like a delightful read.
I can’t wait for it to be delivered, so I can relax out on my front porch, in my wicker rocker, with a iced tea, and get carried away into her newest novel. I love to entertain myself this time of the year, by reading some great summer reads. Since I am a mother of three daughters, I am sure I will find this novel very interesting. It is funny how you can love your daughters all equally, but each one for different talents they possess.
Her covers alone put me in. relaxed and ready to read mood. Thanks for introducing her to us.
Your book sounds like a great read. I’m spending a week at the beach in June and will be unplugged and want to read a real book while relaxing under the canopy on the beach.
Signing up for your blog.
What gorgeous photos and wonderful recommendation for the book, and a new blog to follow. Definitely on my TBR list now!
This sounds like it would be an amazing book. Thank you for hosting this giveaway. The book cover is absolutely beautiful and I can’t wait to be able to read this!

I watch alot of the “fixer upper” shows and am very fond of subway tile, so Kristy’s blog post today was my choice of recent posts! Everyone gathers in an open kitchen…love the clean look of subway tile in kitchens and bathrooms!
