Loving Lavender

fghlavandewr

Lavender.  Can you just smell its heavenly fragrance? It has summer & Provence written all over it.

While we are going back and forth to various locations for the LA Gift Show this week and into the weekend, our new shipment of drying Lavender arrived. The whole storage room smells beyond heavenly! I love to use dried Lavender as accents at home, and have too many different kinds of lavender in the garden, but did you know cooking with organic Lavender is also quite a treat? For summer, try this refreshing, easy and beautiful Lemonade:

Lavender Lemonade

* 2 cups sugar
* 5 sprigs lavender (stems and buds), plus additional for garnish
* 2 cups fresh lemon juice (from about 10 lemons)
* 1/2 cup fresh lime juice (from about 4 limes)

Directions:

In a large saucepan, bring one gallon of water and the sugar to a boil. Remove from heat; add 7 lavender sprigs and lemon and lime juices. Cool to room temperature, strain, and chill. Serve on ice, with additional lavender for garnish.
