FRENCH COUNTRY HOLIDAY WELCOME

FRENCH COUNTRY HOLIDAY WELCOME

Happy Monday! I’m so excited to have you join me today at FrenchGardenHouse. Last week I showed you a little peek into our living room all decked out for Christmas, and today I’d love to share a bit more. Welcome! I hope you will stay a while and enjoy this post, maybe get some decorating inspiration, too.

I’m so honored to have you here today!  I am starting at the beginning, the entry walkway, covered porch and our front door. Because  w e l c o m e  begins there, doesn’t it?  I’m partnering with Tree Classics – a division of Balsam Hill -today, so we both welcome you.

Chances are, if you visit me at FrenchGardenHouse, you will be greeted by my assistant Bentley.

He gets so very excited to have people come over for a visit. I hope you love dog kisses, because he is more a “people” lover than of other dogs, and he loves to give kisses.

Your front walkway is a beautiful way to light up your neighborhood and spread Christmas joy! Since it’s the first things your neighbors and guests see, you want to have warm welcoming holiday decor out there.

Here in Southern California, fresh greenery last about a week, if that. So for the front walkway which gets full sun, I used pre-lit garlands as my first choice to make a statement in front of our home. I {and by “I” I mean Mr. FrenchGardenHouse} swagged 4 of the Rustic Holiday Garlands with clear lights on our picket fence. The foliage gives a classic Christmas look with a mix of artificial greenery decorated with an array of pinecones, red berries, bells, and ribbons, and it’s battery powered, so you can use it everywhere!

I planted our black urns with bright green conifer trees, and a ring of white winter pansies. I love how the white flowers really bring the pops of red berries on the garlands into focus.

The natural pinecones mimic the real pinecones in the garlands, and the brown jingle bells!

The natural colors of the Rustic Holiday Garlands complement our home’s French Country fences.  I love how they add a soft, welcoming look to our entrance.

I typically go for very simple, traditional and classic on the front porch, but this year, I wanted our little covered front entrance to feel a bit like the French florist shops dotted all over the French country side.

I added some lit trees from, they come in the elegant urns, and they already have pinecones and red berries. Because the garlands over the door and the wreaths have a battery pack I  think John was able to run the trees on one extension cord!

I think my front entry is a perfect example of how a bit of greenery, berries, and white lights add a welcoming touch.

It’s amazing how the Christmas decor made me love my black front doors all over again!

I hope our front entry walk way and porch have given you some inspiration for your own, if you haven’t decorated quite yet!

PS. There is still plenty of time to order favorite ways to gift people you love from our  Winter Gift Collection.

Wonderful candles, beautiful linen towels, hand made lavender sachets, and much more!  Each and every one a welcoming, personal little gift to say “I love you” to someone special.

Oh Lidy (and Mr.FrenchGardenHouse!) you have done it again! Your entrance is stunning and as always very French and classic! I love and must have real greens for decorating inside and out ( Michigan) but I am pleased to say that these artificial pieces from Tree Classics are gorgeous! What inspiration to wake up to this morning. Thank you!
PS I have bookmarked Tree Classics so that I will not have to search ever, because I could mix faux with fresh.

Hi Lidy, I am needing a new wreath for my front door this year and after checking, I really like the Woodlands Noble Fir wreath. I am not usually a fan of artificial trees, wreaths and garlands, but these look wonderful! Living in Texas means our greenery doesn’t last any longer than yours. I thought your front was absolutely beautiful. I, too, have a black front door and wouldn’t have any other. Merry Christmas to you!

  10. Beautiful Lidy I love your porch. I would take a million puppy kisses. I can’t get enough! I’m in love with mine and everyone else’s dogs. I love the way Bentley is sitting, he is the cutest.

Love the Woodlands and Fraiser wreaths. Super giveaway

  16. Your front porch/entry looks so elegant and inviting, Lidy! Love the “real feel” trees, and for my tiny home, one of the space saver trees would be GREAT! Like the Kenndy Fir Snap Tree!

  17. Happy Holidays Lidy! Your entryway is so welcoming and breathtaking but the star of the show is definitely Bentley! Hugs, Pat

Thank you so much, Lidy for sharing your lovely entryway today!

I love how natural everything looks and so CLASSIC!

I felt so inspired by your post, I too, decorated my home entrance today with lots of
greens and berries right from our own trees and bushes. My favorite is our boxwoods!

I did enjoy the site Tree Classics and will definitely consider them for a wreath! I especially loved
the pre-lit ones in the Christmas Morning Frost Wreath and Garland section. They would show so
beautifully on our traditional farmhouse here in Wisconsin!! Love the details on these with the frosty
    look.

Christmas cheer really does begin in our hearts and at our front door as we welcome those we love
    inside.
P.S. Your assistant, Bentley, always makes me smile.
    Have a wonderful week!

Love the picket fence swags and Bentley looks so regal and ready for Christmas day.

  25. Lidy, from the beautiful garland on your picket fence to the doors opening to the view of your stunning tree, you have created a fabulous welcome to your home. Bentley is so sweet sitting waiting for your guests so he can give kisses. I just have to ask, it appears that on the other side of your fence might be a very large rosemary bush? I love brushing up,against our bushes to catch a whiff of their delicious woodsy smell. Thank you for sharing your gifts with us my friend??

  26. Pam yes, well spotted! We have several large Rosemary bushes in the front garden. Don’t they just smell heavenly?!

  27. Nancy Brantley

Lidy, you have a Beautiful decorated entryway that says WElCOME! I would love to see all of the front? Love, love the iron entry gate!! Bentley could give all the kisses he wants to me! He is posing so cute!

  28. Sharon Crigger-Stokan

Lidy, you have created a perfectly lovely and welcoming walkway to your home. The pictures were so inviting! I must admit that I was a bit disappointed that Bently was not included in your links at the bottom of the post to the items shown. ? I do however totally understand. He has such a sweet and loving look on his face?? I found the most beautiful tree skirt on the TREE CLASSICS website. It is their Shimmering Snow Faux Fur Tree Skirt. It would look so lovely with my “girlie” ?, Victorian/French tree decorations. Have a wonderful Tuesday, friend!
