Fabulous Ideas for Fall

FallReflections

Fall, how I love thee! Fall is by far my very favorite season, is it yours?  It may be because I love crisp, fall days. It may be because I love fall clothes, colors, and pumpkins. Or gathering family and friends around the table for long, lingering meals of comforting soups, breads, and pumpkin everything. {I’m noticing a pumpkin theme here, are you?}

This weekend I’ll be photographing the last of my holiday stories for a few magazines, so I thought you might enjoy some of my last year’s fall posts, until next week when I am going to really begin the fall love fest here on my “Back Room” blog.

I love setting up a beautiful buffet table in the fall. This one is not in traditional colors, I was inspired by the brilliant red apples we bought at the farmer’s market. You can click on each photo to visit the post!

Entertaining goes into full swing in the fall, which is why this “how to set up a bar” post is perfect to visit again.  A little bar set up works anywhere in your home, from outdoors to inside the hallway to on an antique chest in the living room.

This is the perfect recipe for a meal that transitions to fall. It uses summer’s ripe tomatoes, and is the perfect accompaniment to a hot bowl of soup and crusty fresh baked bread.

A Harvest themed French Country table setting that I still love. Simple, easy and beautiful, and best of all it uses some of my FrenchGardenHouse country style antiques and linens, mixed with succulent bright green pears, luscious purple grapes, and yes, pumpkins!  This was a meal that was so. much. fun.  We sat at this table for the longest time, lit the candles, the fire in the fireplace cast a romantic glow over our guests…in one word…perfection!

    Love those! A simple but beautiful table brings even more joy to gathering those you love around the table, don’t you think?

  3. The table with the vibrant reds is very original and I love it. Pears and grapes? Classic. Can’t wait to start decorating as these days get shorter, crisper and our nesting instinct kicks in!
