Merci, Victoria Magazine

Victoria Magazine is one of those magazines, that, the minute it arrives in our mailbox, I stop doing whatever I am, and declare that it’s time for a break! In the spring and summer months, I gather up a cool drink, and head out to the garden to enjoy a few minutes of “previewing” the current issue with all its glorious photographs, and inspiration.  Later, at the end of my work day, I go through it page by beautiful page, savoring each photo and written word.

I am so very thankful that in this issue, one of my very favorite features “Calling Cards” has our own FrenchGardenHouse Card in it.  Thank you so much, Victoria Magazine, and all the editors, for including us.  Our card was created by Catherine Haugland, of Avalon Rose Design.

This is such a gorgeous issue, if you don’t subscribe, be sure to find it at a bookstore, or market….the photographs of nature’s bounty for summer in the article below alone is so inspiring!  Lots of luscious fresh fruit and vegetable recipes to try this summer, too!

The styling is just so inspirational, I plan on serving up a cheese and baguette platter just like the one shown below, how beautiful is that? {and easy, in the summer time I’m all about easy!}

I might try making the “stone fruit” Galette shown below too. Looks delicious, and it seems pretty easy since it’s not so “precise” as some pies and desserts.  Easy. Delicious. Beautiful. My mantra for summer entertaining.  Is there something easy but fabulous you  make for summer entertaining that you could share?  Please let us know, we are all always looking for those magical dishes to showcase the fruits of summer in a delicious way!

    Love Victoria. I buy at the newsstand, mainly because I love the “hunt”. I always look at the pictures straight through and then go back and read later. When my kids were little, it was my Hour to myself. Saw your business card in there, very exciting

    Can’t wait for the stone fruits and berries to come into season –
    Have a tattered recipe I pull out each year, right about now, for bread pudding made in a cast iron skillet (started on the stovetop, finished in the oven) filled with cherries, peaches and blueberries.
