Soothing

Dreamy, this bedroom is just so dreamy. While I am very happy with our own room at home, this one, below, has me thinking redoing it wouldn’t be a bad thing. {Sorry, I always think it wouldn’t, there are just so many gorgeous rooms and colors to inspire!}

I am supposed to rest and “take it easy” for the next two weeks or so since I had surgery last week.  A room as beautiful as this would definitely help keep me in it. I love so much about it, starting with the high ceilings, the chandelier {although to be honest I would replace that with a French antique}.  The fireplace, long on my wish list for my bedroom at home, but most likely not directly next to the bed. The soft colors, the bed skirt, the Lavender and Natural Plaid, the Lavender curtains, all just beyond lovely, non?

This room is so soothing to the senses, the colors, the light, the fresh, crisp sheets, perfect.

I am doing so well, and it’s difficult for me to “rest, rest, rest”, but one of the happiest things about the luxury of all this time is the opportunity to really visit lots of beautiful spots on the internet, and get inspired. I’ve had lots of sweet emails and cards, flowers and meals, too. So I am thankful. And will continue to dream on, read a few great books that I ordered and am greatly looking forward to receiving, drink cups of tea out my antique teacups, and luxuriate in all this “time” that has suddenly become available.  {okay, I’ll admit, I’m already planning our next buying trip for French Garden House too!}

The garden outside our bedroom window is in full bloom with Roses, Anemones, Pansies, Foxgloves, the Hydrangeas are coming out, birds are singing, when I take an occasional walk out there, my heart is gladdened.   As soon as I am able, I will shoot some photos of the garden for all of you who asked.

I hope you enjoy a lovely Monday, friends.

    I agree. I love my bedroom, too, but this is a lovely one. The lavender plaid is so sweet, and the curtains are gorgeous.

    When I read your comment about not wishing the fireplace next to the bed, I smiled at a treasured memory of studying in London and being so grateful that my bed was next to the fireplace during that long cold winter. However, I did take great care with the bed sheets. :)

    Wow, that is one gorgeous bedroom. The bedroom’s design is really relaxing. I’d love to redo our bedroom to something like that as well. Simple yet elegant, very nicely done.
