French Home Tour

I love peeking into “real” homes, don’t you?  Thought you’d have fun with just a few little peeks into this French Home. The French have such a casual way with their homes, and somehow it all adds up to sublime elegance.  Outside in the garden {love the curved huge doors!} a small bistro set is set for morning coffee.  Just a few pillows and white cloth is all it takes to enjoy the sunshine in a stylish way.

Inside, the mantel really does make this room.  The two colors of couches are a great match, the antique round framed window set on the table adds another visual pop.  This is one way to make our American rooms, which are so often without great architectural details, more interesting.  We sell fantastic old window casements and doors at FrenchGardenHouse, see how one designer used one of our  large architectural door set HERE

The dining room, loving the ceiling, especially with that great chandelier that mimics the wood planks.

A more elegant corner, perhaps the perfect place to enjoy a cup of tea or glass of wine.  The armoire? sigh. to die for!  Very edited inside, this homeowner either has great restraint in shopping France’s fabulous fleamarkets and antique shops, or they have so much storage elsewhere that this wonderful armoire doesn’t have to hold much.

Finally a peek from one room into the living room.  The contrasts in the decor are what makes this home so interesting.  The colors are all neutrals, but the juxtaposition of elegant gold {chandelier} with rough wood {side table} and again more elegant {settee} makes this far from a boring interior.  Elegant, but not stuffy.  I could move right in and be more than content!  How about you?

I wonder if the owner was washing the lovely crystal in that cabinet??? These looks appeal to me, not too over done. I love that stone/tile floor looking into the living room.
    Thanks, thea

What beautiful pictures! Is this home actually in France – the colors are so classically French. I especially love the first image of the outdoor bistro set. It looks like its all set and ready for breakfast or tea.

Eden, yes, this home is actually IN France! It’s beautiful, isn’t it? And how delightful would it be to eat breakfast in this garden in the morning!
